About Our Reactive Dog Training

Some dogs will barely acknowledge the neighbor’s cat walking through your yard, but others might overreact by barking excessively, lunging, growling, snapping, or startling. Their aggressive reactions to normal, mundane situations might cause you and your dog a lot of stress. Reactive dog training can help canines of almost any disposition avoid intense reactions to things that might cause anxiety, fear, frustration, excitement or curiosity. Instead, your dog can develop calmer, more appropriate behaviors when responding to such stimuli, and become more comfortable with everyday situations.

Training Reactive Dogs

Your dog might overreact because it saw, heard or sensed something that triggered fear, anxiety, or stress. Through careful behavior modification, Sit Means Sit’s experts will help identify your dog’s trigger points and create a plan that helps them work past their impulse to react. Helping your dog control their reactive behaviors may:

  • Reduce their anxiety levels
  • Cut down on destructive or aggressive habits
  • Improve their ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Better socialize with other people and animals

Darcy graduated!!!! 🎉🥳 Our sweet, timid 1 year old adopted golden Pyrenees is a completely new dog after just 5 full days of boarding/training with Christine! We got her back before Thanksgiving with family and it was a hectic one with kids running around everywhere, jumping around to different houses and not only did she keep her commands, but we were so surprised with the difference in her confidence! She was so scared of a leash, even the sound of the drawer where we kept them made her run off and she would not come to you after. If we ever got her on one it was from carrying her to the car and putting the leash on her while she was in the backseat. We never imagined her being able to do “tricks” Christine taught her (with how much work we thought she needed) but not only did she learn to place, stay, come, sit-she is calmer and less skiddish!! Our first big walk with her was at the Colonial Tree Lighting ceremony and she made it out of the house, down to the park and back effortlessly-like there was never an issue at all! Can’t thank Christine enough and the Sit Means Sit team for the miracle they worked!! Very nice, great customer service and the LOVE they have for your animals 🥹🙏❤️🤗 an investment for sure, but worth every penny!!
