I’m so grateful for this place! Both of our dogs came in lacking manners and struggling with reactivity, and Katelyn met them with incredible patience, kindness, and care. She took the time they needed to build a strong foundation for success, and it truly shows. We’re beyond happy with the progress they’ve made and can’t wait to start group classes!

Sit Means Sit was absolutely phenomenal with my german shepherd/belgian malinois mix. Before meeting the team, my boy would drag me across roads and parking lots trying to murder other dogs. By his graduation day he was able to be in a room full of other dogs without making a peep and be able to controlled on leash with another dog running directly in his path. Christine was magnificent with Atlas and got his butt into shape along while treating him with respect and patience that his breed requires. It felt like she treated him how she would her own dogs. The staff were incredibly helpful with all needs from scheduling to health requirements. Highly recommend using sit means sit for training needs. I will definitely be heading back for group classes in the future.

We took our 4 month old German Shorthaired Pointer to Sit Means Sit for training and loved our experience. The location is very conveniently located in West Ashley and very clean. We dropped our pup Murphy off for multiple full days of training and she has really responded well to it all. She mainly worked with trainers Kaitlin and Zach. They were great to work with. We felt very comfortable leaving our pup with them and you could tell our pup was well taken care of and trained with passion. Each day when we would pick up Murphy at the end of the 8 to 9 hours of training, Katlin and Zach would run through everything they did for the day and do 30-40 min training with us so we would know what to do for the incoming week at home until the the next training day. Overall it was a great experience and we are really looking forward to the group lessons in the future weeks! Thanks again!

Came here to shout out everyone that works here! Professional, kind, gentle but firm, are only a couple of the superlatives I would give the people at SMS. It’s so incredibly obvious that each employee loves what they do, and the results speak for themselves. Everyone I worked with, from the initial visit with Cassie, to the one on one coaches Katelyn, Zack, and Christine all deserve the most golden of stars. 12/10 would recommend!

Turns out that you can teach an “older” dog new tricks! We adopted Brodie at the age of 5.5 years from a rescue group. He’s a goofball, lovable chocolate lab, but he really needed help with his manners when we brought him home. Sit Means Sit truly transformed his behavior at home (no more begging at meal time), in the car (no more whining), and most especially while out on walks. Family members have even joked that they expected very little change when we invested in his training and were astonished in his improved behavior.

Christine was our primary trainer and remembered individual things about him when I returned for a refresher (I needed it more than Brodie!) seven months later. Shout out to Zack as well, who uncovered Brodie’s absolute obsession with tennis balls.

If you really want to improve your daily experiences with your dog, this investment is worth it. Love it that it’s a two year relationship as well……a little refresher offered as part of the package is great.

Mick is doing great. His training with Zack, Caitlin and Christine has been super. He’s so much better thanks to the expertise of Zack, Caitlin and Christine. His first group training was today and Mick did great. Thanks to SMS Charleston.

Byron is a one year old golden retriever with a huge loving personality and did not want to walk nicely in a leash or be obedient in any way. The trainers at Sit Means Sit did some fantastic loving training with the 95 lb sweet beast! He now walks politely, heels, greets people sitting down, drops it and leaves it and doesn’t lunge at squirrels all while keeping his wonderful spirit! Thanks so much to Zach, Christine, and Katelyn! The best trainers and training for your pup!

We had the best experience with Sit Means Sit! Christine, Zack and Kate as well as the rest of the staff were amazing. They gave examples of their exemplary work with sharing their own dog’s training abilities. My once crazy Jack Russell puppy shocked us by the progress he made as he is now an obedient and well behaved dog that we can take on enjoyable walks and strolls out on the town. Thank you! We will be back for advanced training opportunities and day care soon!

We’ve had a great experience with Sit Means Sit so far. We worked with Christine and Zack, and truly appreciated the time, patience, and insight they shared with us throughout the process. Bonnie completed the three days of day training, which also came with prior puppy classes, and we’re already seeing the results paying off.

Bonnie has made noticeable progress, and it’s clear the foundation they helped build is making a difference. We’re excited to continue that growth through our upcoming group and private classes and feel confident knowing we’re on the right track.

Highly recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone looking for knowledgeable trainers who genuinely care about both the dogs and their owners.

Kristine has been absolutely wonderful working with my dog, Pearl. From the very beginning, she has been patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive to Pearl’s specific needs and personality. She has made a huge difference in Pearl’s responsiveness and overall behavior. I would highly recommend sit means sit and Kristine to anyone looking for effective, compassionate dog training.
